When i was younger, i stole change off of my grandfather’s nightstand and my grandmother yelled at me for doing so. When i asked my grandfather if i could keep it, he said i could as long as i shared it with my sister. After splitting the difference, i was left with 26 cents. Every time i would visit after the first incidence, he would replace the coins in the same spot and the rules were always the same and i would always leave there with 26 cents. When he passed away, i put 26 cents into his suit pocket before he was buried. Shortly after, my grandmother came to my house with a small envelope that she found in one of his drawers. It was filled with coins that he would have continued to leave on his night stand, but didn’t get a chance to do so. I cant think of a better way to remember him by than this tattoo.
